Wow… Hard to believe it’s been 4 months since I started the personal Chef for busy lives business. Typically off to a slow start for a new business, it has been building up to a fantastic May. Thanks to all who referred and booked my services last month. Bridal Showers, Anniversaries, Birthdays, Dinner for the Bishop, Silent Auction Gifts, and just a few friends getting together for a great meal – you can read and see some pictures on the site. Big hits in food – Herb Crusted Beef Tenderloin (this ain’t your mama’s Beef Tenderloin – with all due respect, I’m sure it’s wonderful but this is Beef Tenderloin!), to Tres Leche Cake, it was a great series of cooking experiences. I’ve also been busy teaching in May. What you ask? Well keep reading!

At Liaison College in Vaughan, I’ve been instructing the “ABC’s” – Adult Baking and Cooking recreational classes.  The Baking – cookies to breads, and even some stuff in between, and Cooking – starting with the basics of Knife Skills and covering some interesting recipes you get to take home for you and your family to enjoy.  We started off with Chicken Pojarski (no really, google it. Craig Claiborne’s recipe – awesome) with Paprika Sauce, and Mushroom Risotto. This week we are making Boeuf Bourgignon and Focaccia. These are 3 hour classes once a week, 4 weeks in duration. So if you are interested in meeting others who share a love for good food, and also learning a thing or two from a home cook turned trained Chef – email me for further information or contact Michelle at the college, 905.761.9733 directly.

At PC Cooking School, Loblaw Stores- I’m actively involved in the “What’s for Dinner” programs. In locations from Richmond Hill, Markham, Forest Hill, Bayview Village, Mississauga and Don Mills to others across the GTA. If you have not been, they run in the afternoon or evening. The professional Chef’s at the PC Cooking School Head Kitchen create healthy, nutritious meals that I recreate for you, as well, I make one of my dishes from my own recipe collection as an add on.  (Check out the easy yet impressive Apples in Puff Pastry recipe I’ve demonstrated with fantastic feedback from the audience, in the Recipe’s section of the site).  You get to taste all the food made in the class and ask questions on the preparation and serving of the meal. You learn some interesting techniques, tips and shortcuts to creating great meals fast. Contact your PC Cooking School, usually located upstairs in the Loblaw stores, for more details, and don’t forget to ask for me, if I haven’t been there, your asking will help bring me there.

So that’s been my May, here’s to an equally exciting and fun filled June, July, August… you get the idea.
